The stars of Nitro Circus Live rolled in to Sydney this week and after seeing the sights and testing their tackling skills against the Parramatta Eels, they were ready for their first of two sold out shows at Acer Arena last night.
Another energised capacity crowd showed their appreciation of the all new action sports touring sensation as the biggest and best tricks from across the globe in BMX, FMX, skate, in-line skating and a range of other wheeled contraptions were thrown down.
A chant went around the arena when Aaron ‘Wheelz’ Fotheringham took to the Gigant-a ramp the crowd and Nitro stars erupted when he rode out of his back flip for the first time this tour.
It was a tough night for some of the performers with a few of them taking some big hits, especially FMXer Robbie Adelberg who crashed badly whilst performing a ruler back flip. Adelberg was carried off on a stretcher, but was incredibly lucky to escape without more serious injuries. Proving just how tough he is, he left hospital today with a fractured jaw, bad body bruising and concussion.
Lyn-Z Hawkins hit her face hard on a landing, but is ready to perform again tonight and Steve McCann is unfortunately out of the tour for now with a broken hand. McCann is hoping to make a return for his home shows in Melbourne. Jim De Champ was also concussed after a fall, but has the all clear to ride tonight.
Cam Sinclair pulled off another perfect double back flip proving he is well and truly back to his double flipping best and a good time was had by all in the final dance.
Nitro Circus Live will perform to another sold out crowd tonight before it packs up and heads west to Perth for the May 22 show.
